Why Use an EP ?
What are Educational Psychologists?
Educational Psychologists (EPs) find solutions to the problems encountered by children, young people and adults in education, which may involve learning difficulties and/or social, emotional or behavioural problems.
EPs carry out a wide range of tasks and assessments with the aim of enhancing children's well-being and learning thus enabling teachers and parents/carers to become more aware of a range of factors affecting teaching, learning and development.
We advise on how the needs of the children and young people can best be met.
Why consult me?
As an experienced chartered Educational Psychologist I have the skills to undertake a variety of in-depth assessments from early years to adults and to provide effective advice and support in order to promote well-being and learning. By working closely with multi professionals, including other EPs, Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists, I keep my professional development up to date and have a wide range of expertise. My assessments consider the whole child and will provide a detailed profile of your child's strengths and needs.
Parents tend to seek advice from me when their child is experiencing difficulties with their development or learning. It is often because the child is not making the progress they would expect, there is a disparity between their abilities or there is an emotional/behavioural difficulty causing a barrier to learning. Advice is sought from me to help understand how best to support their child to help them achieve their potential and function successfully in the classroom.
I can also carry out assessments for exam dispensation eg extra time and assessments for learning issues in the workplace.
